April 2, 2017

I'm hoping you have enjoyed your Spring Break!  We had a very busy (and FUN) March!
Miss Whitaker and I enjoyed speaking to all of you at conferences and were so proud of and impressed by the children.  They were so excited to show you the progress being made by them in our classroom this year.  In March, we learned about community helpers and had Officer Bogdala come in to visit and answer questions we had about what police officers do. We continued to practice addition/number combinations in many different ways.
In April, we will be learning about ocean habitats and the animals that live there.  Since Earth Day is this month, we will learn about "growing up green" and recycling.  We will also continue number combinations and begin subtraction.

Upcoming Dates:
Friday, April 7 - International Yoga Day
Friday, April 14 - No school
Friday, April 21 - Celebrate Earth Day
Monday, April 24 - Kindergarten Open House 6:00-7:30pm

Taste and Learn Day!

Thank you to the moms who cooked and brought food in to share for our Taste and Learn Day!  We had roti bread with potato mash, perogis, banitza and a Bulgarian yogurt drink,  Irish Soda bread, and gulab jamoon (Indian sweet).  Not only did we try some new foods, we learned about how they are made and the different cultures from which they come.
